Come See Inspiring Film Sponsored by Livingston Dems

Take your mind off what's happening in Washington around Jan. 20 with a special event sponsored by Livingston Dems, and volunteering opportunities!

Join us for a showing of "Good Night and Good Luck", about famous CBS broadcaster Edward R. Murrow and his courage in standing up to the intolerant bully Sen. Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s. His story will inspire us as we face the next four years. It shows how attacks on our constitutional rights can be countered when responsible people call out the bullies and stand up to them. We still need such people today.

The showing will be at 2:30 p.m. Jan.19 at the Historic Howell Theater, 315 E. Grand River, Howell. Doors open at 2 p.m. Admission is free. Please bring a toy or book for C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Their wish list is here.

Capacity is limited so please sign up in advance here!

Besides being inspired by the story of Murrow, we also will be working for the community in the days before and after the film showing.

We will be volunteering at Recycle Livingston on Saturday, Jan 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Feb. 1 will be volunteering at Community Connect from noon to 3:30 p.m. helping take down tables and chairs after it ends. Community Connect is a one day event at 2/42 Community Church connecting local families with needed services.

If you would like to volunteer with us at either Recycle Livingston or Community Connect, please email "livcodems AT gmail.com" with your name, contact information and volunteer preference.

Please volunteer with us and join us for this inspiring film for a chance to reflect on how to confront the bullies of our time.
