For six years, the Lincoln Project has produced videos, podcasts, and social media content designed to alert the world to the menace of the 47th president and to preserve our democracy.

Now, the group’s chief operating officers will be speaking at the April meeting of Livingston County Democrats.
Jeff Timmer is a former executive director of the Michigan Republican Party. He left the party and now works with the Lincoln Project as well as co-hosting the podcast, “A Republic if You Can Keep It,” with former Michigan Democratic Party chair Mark Brewer.
“If anybody understands how to stand up to the 47th president, it is Jeff Timmer,” said Judy Daubenmier, chair of the Livingston County Democratic Party.
“We are looking forward to his analysis of the current political moment. We need his message now more than ever.”
Timmer will speak at the April 24 meeting. It will be at 7 p.m. at Re/MAX Platinum Auditorium, 6870 Grand River, between Brighton and Howell. Please park in the back and use the rear entrance. Be prompt as the business locks the door at 7 p.m.

During his 30 years inside the Michigan Republican Party, Timmer has managed, advised, and directed strategy on hundreds of legislative, congressional, statewide political and ballot issue campaigns. In 2016, he was an advisor to Ohio Governor John Kasich’s 2016 presidential campaign.
The Lincoln Project began in 2019. Its website describes its mission in this way:
“The Lincoln Project is dedicated to the preservation, protection, and defense of democracy. Since our launch in December 2019, The Lincoln Project has played a unique role in American politics. We entered the political arena with two stated objectives: first, to defeat Donald Trump at the ballot box in 2020. (Done.) The second was to ensure Trumpism failed alongside him. We understand that the real fight against Trumpism is just beginning and we’re committed to seeing it through. Our democracy depends on it.
"Founded by former Republican strategists who understood the grave threat of Trumpism to our nation, the Lincoln Project team has expanded to include individuals from across the political spectrum.
“We are first and foremost: pro-democracy.”
The Lincoln Project has won two Webby awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences to recognize excellence on the Internet. The 2023 awards were for a campaign against antisemitism in the U.S. and for a campaign urging support for Ukrainian freedom.
