Early voting is now open for Michigan's Aug. 6 primary!
The primary will decide our nominee for the U.S. Senate seat left open by Sen. Debbie Stabenow's retirement -- either U.S. Rep. Elisa Slotkin or Hill Harper, Detroit small business owner and actor.
You can vote at your local clerk's office every day this week through Sunday, Aug. 4, and feed your ballot directly into the tabulator, just as you would at the polls on Election Day.
Remember you can only vote the Democratic side of the ballot or your ballot will be invalid.
Many local governments have proposals on the ballot, too. You can view them here.
If you have received an absentee ballot, it is too late to mail it back. Instead, deliver it to your clerk's office or ballot box before Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. to be sure it counts.
Some people question whether they should vote in the Democratic primary since many of our candidates run unopposed. But it is an important morale boost for them to see how many votes they receive in the primary and it shows momentum for their campaign.
