Livingston County calls itself the wealthiest county in Michigan, but did you know even here there are families just scraping by?
Come learn the extent of the problem in our county at Livingston Dems' monthly meeting on Thursday, May 23.
Nancy Rosso, executive director of the Livingston County United Way, will discuss the United Way’s ALICE report. The acronym stands for “Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed” and refers to people who are working but not economically secure due to low wages, reduced working hours, and the increasing cost of living.
The 2019 report is the fifth ALICE report by the United Way and details how financial instability remains for thousands of Michigan families despite national low unemployment.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at the Community Unitarian Universalists in Brighton, 3333 S. Old 23, Brighton. Light refreshments will be served. The party’s regular business meeting will follow.
